Rehearsals for the 26th of feb

Ok guys!


You've got your first taste of how full runs are gonna be like from last week's rehearsals.
I know it was /it is gonna be hard but this is it guys. This is our LAST LAP! 2 more Saturdays to go and We're done!


This week's schedule is NOT going to be easy so I want all of you guys to come MENTALLY PREPARED.
Here it is:


9am - 12pm: First full run. 
12pm - 1pm: Lunch
1pm - 3pm: Dance practice for Red Indians / Teaching of fly away to darlings + Peter and tink
3pm - 5pm: Dance practice for Boogieman scene
5pm - 7pm: 2nd full run. (with music and choreo)
7pm - 8pm: Dinner! Dinner! (and an awesome one at that.)
8pm - 10pm: Dance practice for Mermaids Song AND Vocal practice for mermaid song AND Vocal and Choreo for LostBoys: "Welcome to Neverland"




I'll give all of you a minute to digest this.


OK as you can see, its an UBER long day for all of us.
CREW MEMBERS WHO ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING REPORT TO SARAS OR CHRISTINE FOR DUTIES.


Guys,
If you really think about it, apart from the time, we've tried to NOT stress all of you guys the whole day. As much as there is work to do for all of us there is also ample rest. USE THIS TIME WELL.
If you have nothing to do for an hour or two, use this time to rest. DO NOT COMPLAIN THAT YOU ARE BORED or ITS A WASTE OF TIME. I will not tolerate attitudes like that.


Guys, 
We need to draw strength from each other. Thats the only way we're gonna get through the day. All of us have become the best of friends over the past year. Now is the time to rely on that bond to support us through the next few weeks. 


I've been there.
I've done this before.


I promise you its not gonna be hard if we put our hearts and souls into it.

Rehearsals on the 19th of Feb: FULL RUNS BABY!!!

OK back to business.

Rehearsals are back to the normal timings this saturday.
Here's my aim:

2 full runs (minus choreo)

Which means:


9.00am - 9.30am: Briefing on how a full run works***
9.30am - 1pm: Full Run


1pm - 3pm: Break/crew meeting/photoshoot


3pm - 5pm: Full Run


5pm- 6.30pm: Boogeyman choreography.

First things first.
Musical is 22 days away.
GAME ON people!

All of us have to shift into our final gears for this last leg of Peter Pan.
Lets give our best (like you guys did last week) and make this Saturday a success.
No more goofing off, no more late coming, no more forgetting lines or breaking character.

Secondly.

Over the past year i have almost NEVER had a full cast.
Somehow we've been able to overcome this and make GREAT progress.

From now on i will not tolerate this.
Regardless of your reasons I want all of you CAST AND CREW ALIKE to be down.

Notice i ask you to come at 9 but i start rehearsals only at 9.30. Thats because there is a VERY important briefing i have to give all you guys so PLEASE BE EARLY. Call each other. Wake each other up early. We're a team so lets support each other.

Church goers, i CANNOT ask you to NOT go to church.
However you MUST understand my position.
As a director its insulting if i don't have a full cast. My crew would feel demoralized too if they had to move props for a black or flawed stage.

Here's what i ask of all of you guys.
3 more weeks.
Give me 3 more Saturdays and we'll be done with our musical.

I want to finish at least 8 full runs before our show and you CAN do it. WE CAN do it.
I have GREAT faith in us and our musical.

A Short Clip on Our Journey so Far

A note from my heart.

I woke up on Sunday morning, full off worry. 

I know my cast and crew members had worked their butts off for Chapters of Love to make it the success that it was. I know everyone is tired to their bones because frankly, I was. Yet i know Rehearsals still had to go on. So  I pressed on. 

I walked into the theaterette a little afraid of the morale.

Boy was i ever wrong.

Everyone was so up in the sky in morale and mood. 

I mean Sameer was walking in heels but hey.. we all know he's a little bit ga- different..

My lost boys were absolutely AMAZING. I've never seen a Lostboy scene as funny and entertaining as yesterday's rendition. I was actually laughing along. I wrote the scene, seen it a million times, corrected it at every step and critiqued it for the better part of a year and a half, but yesterday I was laughing. Laughing like as if it was the first time I saw the scene. Do you guys understand what this means?

It means we're ready.

Pirates. Mermaids. Lostboys. Indians. Ghouls. Hook. Boogeyman. John. Michael. Wendy. Tink. Peter. 

You guys have matured so very much since that fateful audition day.. .

When Nicole was a weird china girl, Cheryl was scary WICKED, Kc had normal hair, Mus was trying to be tinkerbell, Kanages was only a brown indian girl and not a Red Indian Princess, Mel was a S**cited korean superstar (her hair damn epic la i remember)  Jazreel was a hot yoga girl, Syawal was Suria TV superstar, Sameer was.. ok la no change there.. 

When I was this round ball of squishyness that was scared as hell about how this was going to play out over the next year. 

You guys have changed me, for the better and for good.

We have one more month. Less so actually. 

I just want to say that I am VERY VERY VERY confidant in staging Peter Pan.
I've been so for quite sometime now..but after Sunday its now a FACT that we're gonna tear that stage apart. (ok don't do that, we don't have money for damages like we had 2 years ago in TRCC)

Listen guys.

We're here and we're doing this.

I've very proud of all of you. Very Very proud.

You've got a VERY hard-working crew backing you up.

This year Peter Pan's gonna fly and we're all gonna be carrying his fat ass all the way to glory.

O MY! photoshoot!

HELLOS ALL! Sorry to inform but I'm pushing the photoshoot to next sun:19th feb :). Apologies on the delay but this should give you enough time to preen and beautify yourself or even try to rectify any disastrous things that you wanna/have one with your hair or what ever not :)

PLEASE DO LET ME KNOW What time you will be free or if you can't make it etc by next wednesday... We'll try to shoot you guys in groups so has to maximise effiency! but of course you're welcome to stick around for another group's photoshoot to watch if you like.
If you guys would like to help out with makeup and hair on the day of the shoot you're more than welcome to :) Just let me know and i can let you know what stuff to bring down etc. if your skin is sensitive to any make up products then please bring down your own too :))

Rehearsals for the 5th of Feb

Hey Guys..
This week's rehearsals are gonna be a little barren without our chinese buddies.
However, THERE IS STILL Rehearsals.

Report to the CC at 09.00am!


9.00 - 12.00 : Rehearsal/revision of ALL LOSTBOY SCENES.
12.00 - 13.00 : Lunch/Crew meeting.
13.00 - 15.00 : Rehearsal/revision of ALL LOSTBOY SCENES.


15.00 - 17.00 : "I'll Think of You" choreo/revision.



Guys, This can be a short and productive day if you want it to be.
The more you concentrate on the scenes the faster you're gonna get it right.
Remember to come prepared.
Remember to come as your characters.


Lost boys (and Kanitha) this is your DAY.
Please do use it wisely!
