HEY GUYS !!!! Lui A.K.A Chub Chub here and Prateepan A.K.A Fuzzy

it's my first time writing a blog entry so if i have any spelling mistake please ignore it........anyways i am very lucky to be in this musical production with you guys..and guys we only have around 3 months to this production and i know we can pull this off if we bring our A game to each and ever rehersals from now on.......

Sameer... we really look up to you not only as Sameer but also as a great actor we know that sameer is the one who raises the bar for all of us.

Cheryl... although her character doesn't speak at all her actions says a million words .

Nathan..We really have nothing to say about you cause you show LOVE & Care For all of us (cast and crew).

Idham...You're just plain weird in a good way and we look up to you.


KC...All We wanna say bout you is STOP STLYING YOUR HAIR!

Kanitha...you are like a mother to all of us

Sean...You are just plain awesome dude..you're just only primary 2 and you are doing so well in acting

Sathim...you good at acting but if you put in more effort you will be able to go far in acting like your BRO...

And guy you all really inspire us to do even better and we hope that  we will still be a family during and after the musical ......okay guy lets pull this musical off and rock it!!!!!!and thanks guys for the wonder full experience!!!!

Rehearsals for the 18th of December

GUYSS!!!

Its here, finally.. .

The last rehearsal session for 2010!!!

Ok First things first, rehearsals this week will start an hour late. Which means 10am. I repeat, rehearsals start at 10 am.  Think of it as a little festive something for us all. Rehearsals will not be at OUR theaterette, because its being used for something else. So report to the office and we'll have instructions posted for ya!

Again, unfortunately some people will not be able to make it but no worries, i forsee a pretty awesome rehearsals session. Here's the schedule:

10.00 - 13.00 : Split up to do individual scenes as groups ( Lost boys, darlings, Pirates ect.)

13.00 - 14.00 : Lunch (crew meeting) 

14.00 - 16.00 : Go through scenes that have been rehearsed. 

Heads up guys, we'll be doing almost all lost boy scenes as well as the whole of act 1 this week. Hook won't be around but pirates will still be rehearsed as well as mermaids. 

Guys, remember the crew have a SURPRISE planned this week.. So if you don't turn up you miss out!

Lastly guys, here's some food for thought..

We have really grown as a family through peter pan and its been a long year, but even on the LAST rehearsal of the month I have people who can't make it. Starting 2011, i do not want to see this. Unless you have exams you should NOT be absent from Rehearsals. Work should not be a reason as well as NS or camps or anything else for that matter. Please guys, lets start 2011 with a BANG! We have everything set in motion. All we need is blood sweat and tears!.. (ok sounds gross but you get it..) 

...oh and one more thing, the crew members don't mind you giving us Christmas presents... i'm just saying la..

Ok Guys, Rehearsal Schedule for this week will be the same as last. 
Our Spirits are up this week so lets all turn up and have an AWESOME Saturday. 


Rehearsal Schedule this week is:


9am - 12 pm : Blocking for ACT 4 scenes 1 to 5 + Revision of older scenes


12pm - 1pm : Lunch


1pm - 3pm : Blocking + full run for act 4.




Those who are supposed to bring a belt please do so.

So each and every one of our character needs to have an essence of ourselves. It is not merely acting that role but becoming it. It is not only about Peterpan, a musical. It is about us. It is not about being part of a production but owning it. And I feel that we all have been doing this role perfectly.


Time sure flies. In a month, it’ll be a year since I got to know all of you. Since something exciting started happening in my life. Since I gained an extra large family. My life feels more complete with this musical. Peterpan has been an exciting journey in my life. Working with extremely talented and sweet people has taught me a lot and I feel gifted to have gained such awesome friends. I always feel a sense of pride and thrill when I mention you guys at home or at school or when I explain to my tuition kid’s mom that I can’t go for tuition on Saturdays because I have rehearsals.


We have come this far guys. Only a little bit more and we can start talking about out next production. ;) And during days where you feel lazy to come for rehearsals or you think you have a valid reason to skip, think about the reason as to why you joined this musical in the first place and what you are getting out of it. I joined this musical to fulfil my passion of acting but I have gotten much more than that. I have the opportunity to act with even more gifted people who have the same love as me for acting. Who can make me laugh and smile all day long. Who can just make my day for no apparent reason.


I know that we are going to do an awesome job next March. I just know it and I can’t wait for that day to come. (: And I’m sure we’ll make it through because this is after all, what we love.


And I love you guys so much. Each and every one of you. We may not hang out much or talk to one another much but I still love you guys.

REFLECTION....

So guys, I will not take this time to apologize for my absence or anything cause I think there's no point of it... but I wanted to share with you something... recently, a friend in theatre asked me why I waste my time with 'amatuer' productions, and this surprised me as it came from him. I thought of all people he would understand. But apparently not. He told me, you spend so much time and effort up to a year and it all boils down to two, three performances. Was, or will, the THREE HUNDRED SIX HUNDRED AND FIVE(and .242199 if we are being technical) days be WORTH it?

With NO DOUBT, and no hesitation, I will say.......YES. MOST DEFINITELY. ABSOLUTELY. POSITIVELY. INDUBITABLY.. (okay so I cheated and took that from thesauras.com big whoop.)

WHY?
Don't you see what we have gained over these meagre ONE-day-a-week rehearsals? FRIENDSHIP. EXPERIENCE.ADVICES.BROTHERHOOD.SISTERHOOD. ALL THE POSSIBLE POSITIVE OUTCOMES YOU COULD LOOK FOR IN THE WORLD. So what that I have to sacrifice my beauty sleep every Saturdays? So what if I have to let go of my family time on Saturdays. So what if I have to travel for up to an hour to get to the CC?

NOTHING is compared to what I get on these Saturdays. My pseudo family. My confidant. My stress-relievers. The reason I SMILE every Saturday, no matter how bad my week is, AFT is my cure, my medicine. And if YOU deny it has the same effect on you, your are in delusion. The sweat and tears are so worth it for all that AFT provides me with. A platform. For all the talent. No matter what you are. We help each other. Cause that is what AFT is about. Not ALL F**KED-UP TEENS. BUT AWESOME FUN TALENTS. We do this not for name, fame, wealth... BUT CAUSE WE LOVE ART. WE HAVE PASSION. WE HAVE TALENT. and most importantly... WE ARE FAMILY.

I can say I am proud of AFT ever since Cinderella Revamped. So much has change. So many have grown. I've been doing this without familial support. And with those doubts from peers. But YET I do it. And here's why.

SAMEER
Bro, you beat the odds and never fail to amaze me with how much talent you have man. You're so much younger than me but Seriously, I look up to you. Your raw talent and passion, has not died since the first day of Cinderella. And you have grown so much as an actor I am truly proud that AFT exists to allow you to share your talent. You're like the epitome of an underdog, but I think now, you ARE it. Not an underdog, not a chameleon. You are just IT.

The DARLINGS

Kanitha, you are awesome lady, I love it when we have a scene together. Henry, you make a good chinese half brother.hahaha. AND SEAN. Where do I begin? We often overlook the fact that there's someone within us who is so young, and I think we take him for granted. He is so young yet he has shown he is more than capable, he is more than just a cute boy, he is an ACTOR. Props to you my young padawan.
 
CHERYL
Your dedication is SO much appreciated you make me feel passionate about acting again. Your efforts to help and advice are examplary and AFT is so much live-lier with the schizo short girl running around no matter how tired or down you are, it never shows. You INSPIRE me, Tinkie. ;)

LOST BOYS
WOW. No matter what people say or what you think, you guys are awesome. Young, inexperienced and new, you have never failed to prove yourselves. You each have a voice and I can, WE hear you. I know sometimes you feel disregarded due to your age, but Each and everyone of you are special and I hope to see you guys continuing to grow, and inspire others your age. Go the extra mile. I promise you, it will be worth it.

IDHAM & KC
Masters of comedy. PERIOD. Keep the laughter coming bros. ;)

SMEE & PIRATES
The chemistry you have among others can't even be explained. It's weird. A year ago, you all were strangers. But now? Your comic timings are awesome and the dynamics you provide for Hook is more than enough to bring him out. I'm afraid to say this, but you guys will definitely steal his limelight. FOR SURE. Hook WHO? hahaha.

MERMAIDS
It is like watching MEAN GIRLS all over again. Three gorgeous ladies. Multi-talented. Need I say more?

KANAGESH
It's been a rough year for you sweetie, but we hope we have been there for you as a family, and we hope to see your gorgeous smile. You never fail to impress me with your lovely voice and how you bring yourself about- with confidence a woman should have.

Lastly...
NAATHAN
The sacrifices and dedication you have made will never equate to ours, but we hope to be there, on stage, and make you proud when the time comes. We will bring our A game on stage and we want you to watch and go 'I directed them' with pride. I want to thank you for giving us the opportunities Peter Pan has provided us with.

So guys, are you in it with me?  Will we stand as one, proudly, at the end of it all and show the world what we are made of? show them that we are TEENS with TALENTS? Show them that we are....

Start Over: Directors note

Ok Guys,


Here's what happened this week. 
This Saturday, when I turned up for rehearsals, there was only 3 guys on time. Two lovely ladies walked in slightly later but thats fine. The problem was that no-one else turned up. As such i couldn't continue with Rehearsals and I had to send everyone home. 


Writing this here, was not as easy as it seems. I was frustrated and angry a little bit hurt too. For those of you who didn't turn up but already told me in advance, i don't mind. Exams and family get in the way of things, i understand. However for those of you who didn't come for no reason or last minute reasons, all i can say is its about time you reflect on your commitment to our musical. Cast AND Crew inclusive. 


I must thank Sameer and Kanitha, two cast members whom I can count on time in and time out. You guys are my rock. I'd want to thank Cheryl for always taking ownership of the musical and for expressing my thoughts for me in her facebook note. Cheryl lives in a totally different part of Singapore but travels half way across the island to come for rehearsals every Saturday, and she does it with a smile. I urge you guys to take the time and read through what she has written. We have two new additions to the family, Shaanan (boogieman) and Kishen (village chief) and we need to welcome them as a group.




I honestly hate getting angry, especially at your guys. I have come to love this band of people in Peter Pan like a family and if you notice thats how i treat you guys. Please do not take this for granted. Some of your attitudes HAVE to change. This goes for CREW members twice. 


Imagine coming to Rehearsals fully pumped up to meed disappointment again and again. 
Not fair to us, and by us I mean ALL of us. 


The pride and joy and tears you will share as a unit on stage after our final show will be the best moment in your life. This I promise you. 


Next week, we Restart. We Reboot. We Revamp. 
I want new energy, new attitudes because we're starting a new act!

ok that's probably one too many las inside there. hehe.
Hellos all citizens of Neverland. Unfortunately, I will not be down for rehearsals this saturday as i have to fulfill other obligations so that our musical will get funding and the higher superiors will <3 us and allow us to run amok in our crazy bid to create Neverland on the grounds of Sembawang. so behave well and listen to your director kays? In return i will make it up to your guys on...Nov.18! I have a surprise planned for you guys and I'm telling you 2 weeks in advance so that you can clear your schedule and get yourself to rehearsals. whoever's not there misses out! =)
Anyways~ in other news! for those who have twitter come follow us @ArteenFurteens :)and also for those who have ordered shirts and haven't paid Sameer. SHAME ON YOU! now pay him and we can all be happy people for the Christmas season. woo oAND ALSO! i require the assistance of somebody good with designing websites.. :( if any of you happen to know such a personnel who doesn't mind doing it for free please direct said personnel my way k? :) Great things are afoot!
We are also looking for dancers/chereographers so any help would be good :)

Notice of Rehearsals on the 4th of December

Hey Guys!
December's here!
We're in our final leg of our musical and a last few more scenes before finishing the show.
Last week was a little painful but you can't have pleasure without pain.


This week my Crew and I, have a new method of speeding up blocking (and making it less painful), so here's to a smoother saturday this week!


The Holiday season is here and as much as I want all of you to enjoy yourselves, do keep in mind that we'll need to put in more effort in Peter Pan now than before. 


That said.
This is the schedule for this coming saturday (04/12/10)


9am - 12 pm : Blocking for ACT 4 scenes 1 to 5 + Revision of older scenes


12pm - 1pm : Lunch


1pm - 3pm : Blocking + full run for act 4.




Cast members will be split into groups to do blocking for the first half.


Pirates/mermaids will be in one group.
Wendy/Lostboys/Peter and Tink will be in another.


Tigerlily and Village chief will be attatched to either one till your scenes come up.
